7. Iain Robertson

No disrespect to any of the other 'overseas' who have represented Countesthorpe, but Iain was the best, making 2007 a 'golden' summer.
He scored 917 runs (average 57), with three centuries and a highest score of 129 not out against Bitteswell. His off spin earned him 35 wickets at 20. We benefitted from not having overs restricted in those days. He also took 11 catches and topped all three categories.
He also played a lot of top class cricket back in New Zealand, originally for his home team Canterbury before moving onto Otago. His highest innings was an unbeaten 107 which he scored for New Zealnd A against England Lions in 2009. He was a 'replacement' in the second innings for a player called up for the full New Zeland team. One of his team mates was a youthful Kane Williamson.
Iain returned to the British Isles in 2009 when he played for North Down in Northern Ireland, who another former Countesthorpe cricket, Tony Riddington, played for in the 1930s.
