Niffy bowled and fielded fantastically! They set out expecting a rain affected game but didn't expect the deluge which was to come. At first they restricted Barrow to 5 runs from 6 overs, before setting about the ruthless destruction of the Barrow batting line up. Rowan Pennwilliams struck first (and second) while Neil Watson continued to bowl economically. Roles then reversed, Rowan bowling back to back maidens and Neil grabbing 3 wickets in 2 overs. Steve Smith briefly joined in claiming 2 wickets, including the wicket of the dangerous looking number 8 batsmen who ended on 35. Brief because after the catch which was well taken by Rowan, the teams were rushed off for rain and never returned. The Gilmorton monsoon season was too much and with the wicket under an inch of water the captains called it a day with Niffy claiming 9 points and the visitors just 5.
Man of the match - (again) Rowan Pennwilliams
