Muggleton and Smith make hay!

Week 18 arrived after a very moist evening. Could the luckiest tosser in the league continue his fine form. Heads the call and heads it came down. What a tosser! Overton inserted to the satisfaction of the away skipper.

A call for a big performance with vital points up for grabs. Muggleton sharing the new ball with Looms. Muggleton looking to land the ball in as many different areas of the pitch as possible. A shaky 1st over. Soon into his stride. Mullins bowled for a duck. Milner caught at 2nd slip by Waqas off looms. A couple of edges through the slips and the home side were on the board.

Warner and Watt C both removed by Muggleton bowled and a fine catch by Wagstaff. Makwana D in at 5. Waddington replacing Looms. Jet lagged. A poor 1st over. Warner T removed again to the Muggleton,Wagstaff combination. Page replacing the now tiring opening bowler after 10 overs. 4-29.

Waddington now firing on all cylinders. Makwana looking for boundary’s. 3 wickets to Waddington in no time. Page dispatched into a beautiful cottage garden by Makwana. The bowler coming back well with a fine slower, slower ball. Wakwana bowled for 28. Waddington replaced by Taylor. Straight onto a good length.

With Pages ability to remove girls deserting him. Hignell was called upon. Lots of spin on offer. Final wicket falls on 88. A fine bowling and fielding performance. 10 overs to bat before tea. Smith and Martin to open.

Smith looking to push on with bat but not foot. Martin solid. A few boundary’s and tea was taken with the score 48 for 0. A lovely spread on offer. The conversation turning to the cost of a Caesar salad. You wouldn’t believe how much extra it is to have chicken with it. These yanks!

A change in the bowling and it’s spin twins. Smith 2 huge 6s. With 50 in sight, jug avoidance. Caught. Wagstaff in at 3. The remaining 21 runs knocked off with ease. Martin 27 no, Wagstaff 8 no. A quick drink and it was time for the long drive home. With spirits high, car share karaoke. Smith, Page and Looms destroying some of the finest tunes ever made.

A very enjoyable day out. The journey lasting almost as long as the game.
