Fleetwood flays fine 50.

The warmest day of the season to date greeted the half may point. A lucky coin was sent for in hope of winning the toss. Kettle calling correctly and electing to have a bat.

Taylor and Coulson taking the new ball. Anything slightly short being dispatched to the boundary with ease. With Taylor not quite find his range Waddington joined the attack. The run rate now under control with Coulson bowling a fine 6 over spell. With the 1st set of drinks taken at 15 overs and the score 56 without loss.

Wale taking over from Coulson and soon found his length. With a containing field set the next 10 overs only costing 25 runs. A fine effort by bowlers and fielders. With Waddington taking a well earned rest after 9 overs the home skipper joined the fun. Patel removed for a well played 36 caught by wale.

With a pair of Kettles now at the crease the run rate would need to increase to set a testing total. 2nd set of drinks taken at 30overs with the score 101 for 1. Kettle J looking in good touch until he was run out superbly by Taylor. 110 for 2. Looms now removed and Taylor returned for a second spell.

Wale still bowling tight and was finally rewarded with the wicket of Mays LBW for 1. Taylor now into his groove and finding a good length the expected charge was under control. Wale finishing a fine 12over spell. Coulson now returning to close out the innings with Taylor. Both claiming a wicket apiece via the safe hands of Looms!

Innings closed 173 for 5. Surely a few short on such a true wicket. With a slow tea taken and lots of talc applied Martin and Fleetwood opened.

Martin removed caught and bowled for 9. Wagstaff in at 3 after a long vigil the week before. Run rate climbing in typical Wagstaff style. Fleetwood happy to play straight with a long innings in mind. Drinks taken 61 for 1 15 overs bowled.

Wagstaff now finding the sweep to his enjoyment and loft to huge 6s into the field. 50 now in sight but cramp amongst many other things now setting in Wagstaff bowled for a well played 44. 80 for 2.

Page D joined old friend Fleetwood in a partnership that rolled back the years. The pair scoring runs with ease and elegance. Rotating the strike well and dispatching any rubbish to the fence. Drinks taken 116 for 2 30 overs bowled.

Could this pair see the 2s home. Fleetwood bringing up a fine 50 with a trademark pull for 4. Page D now playing with great timing the total was successfully chase for the loss of 2 wickets and 4 overs to spare.

A fine team victory ending a very hot day. Fleetwood happy to pass his jug around after a match winning 66no.
