After a lovely hour and fifteen minute drive to Market Overton the hosts won the toss as heads landed and put the Niffy into bat Badger started off confidently punishing the bad balls until Hudson seamed one back found the inside edge onto the stumps, the same happened to Deggs leaving the Niffy on 56-2 in the 18th over, the hosts were making it tough for the Niffy and Hudson claimed the 3rd wicket trapping Smig leg before, The game swung Overton's way with the the introduction of the left arm spinner Thwaites as he went onto to claim 6 wickets for 42 runs with 3 of the wickets being catches on the boundary to the same fielder, The Niffy setting a target of 169, A mention for Zubair who scored 41 in his first batting chance for the 2's and looked like he will match all the hype from his younger playing days (not that he is an oldie!!). So 170 needed the Niffy skipper thought 20 short and that proved to be the case but the Niffy gave the league leader wannabe's a scare never giving up even when the game was edging the hosts way, every edge fell safe every shot hit in the air fell safe it really was proving to be one of them days then just as Overton were cruising to victory happy meal bowled the skipper, a run out 2 overs later, 2 wickets in the next over and the hosts needed 9 to win with 2 wickets left but it wasn't to be as an edge for 4 secured the winning runs although later the score book said it was a tie........ a mention for Jimmy who bowled a fine spell with figures of 3-34 from 12, Happy Meal once again bowling tight lines when called upon and Joey being very unfortunate only to claim the 1 wicket with numerous edges falling safe, some tough games coming up but the Niffy are in good form digging deep when needed and the the coming weeks are going to be interesting if we can keep the strong turn outs
