Niffy make hard work of securing the points

On an overcast day and a good looking wicket the skipper was surprised by Houghton's choice to bat first especially when the skipper claimed the first wicket with his second ball of the day jonny (no arm) claiming a good catch, Sharpey at the other end was bowling his best spell of the season so far it took the last ball of his 5th over for the hosts to score runs off his bowling with the bat, Matts figures of 6-3-7-2 hopefully will provide him with confidence and belief in his ability!! Waggy was fired up against his old side and he claimed a wicket maiden in his first over and with Ash at the other end between them they claimed 5 wickets, Gibbo claimed the important wicket of Norwell who was proving to be a danger and it was also gibbo's bowling which saw the home side make a mess of running and the skip providing badger with the run out chance which he took.... so Houghton all out for 82 Simple...........
Never with the Niffy
With just 12 on the board Degg's misjudged one and an inside edge onto the stumps was his undoing, Jonny was caught and bowled , Badger Bowled to a ball that turned, Happy Meal chipped one to straight to the fielder, Muggle attempted a cut again off middle stump 41-5 in only the 11th over all before tea......... This is where Waggy took charge with him and Jacko making his second team debut adding a much valuable 37 runs to the total before jacko edged to gully, Jacko should be pleased with his efforts on his debut and he certainly deserves his place in the team again this coming week, Ash joined Waggy at the crease and with the black clouds looming it was 2 byes that saw the Niffy get to the winning total required.... Waggy ending on 34 NO to show once again what a capable batsman he is.... special mention to Badger his first time back behind the stumps for over 18 months 4 catches, a run out and no BYES......... are you reading this Mr Gardner and Mr Spencer!!

A big game this week end where hopefully another win would mean no worries of a relegation battle for this team!!
