solid all round performance bags the points

With showers forecast for the early part of the afternoon they arrived just as the Niffy batsmen were about to walk out after Illston won the toss and elected to field, within 30 minutes thou play began with no overs lost?? Yorkie was the first of 5 wickets for the Illston spinner Maqbul going back instead of forwards and up went the finger much to Yorkie's disappointment, Badger joined Degg's at the crease only for Degg's to pull up with a muscle strain but being the seasoned pro he is he continued through the pain barrier hitting the ball to the boundary rather than running, Unfortunately Degg's lost his wicket picking out the fielder and Badger followed 4 runs later leaving the Niffy on 51-3, Happy Meal and Garry thou put on a 67 run partnership with them scoring at a respectable rate but the feeling was at the 35 over stage we were below par with the score being 122-4 with Happy Meal falling 3 short of his 50, Garry and Jimmy then increased the run rate to 8 an over as the Niffy tried to get a good score to defend but in doing so they both perished to the spinner, Waggy and Muggle both hit runs quickly before both being bowled with Waggy getting a Send Off, so with 3 overs remaining the Niffy were 18 short of the 200 target with the skipper and sam at the crease No Problem No Panic the shots came out the bag and the Niffy ended on 209, After a decent Yorkie inspired Tea the Niffy set about the Illston Batting which was rather subdued for an Ilston side, it was in the eighth over when the first mistake was made with the skipper claiming the first wicket with Yorkie taking the chance and then again in his next over same shot same ending Yorkie taking the chance again, unfortunately with Illston doing our scorebook as they didn't bring one i cant put down what the scores were as the wickets fell, But Waggy and Jimmy bowled tight lines with Waggy claiming 5 -32 and Jimmy unluckily 1-37 but he played a big part in the spell between them that saw 6 wickets fall keeping the Illston Batsman Sunny off strike much to his frustration, the overs thou were running out until Happy Meal produced "Ball Of The Day" (according to him) bowling Rupesh with a slower ball and then the skipper claimed the final Illston wicket with Sunny picking out Yorkie yet again to claim another decent catch, 30 Points but more importantly a solid all round team performance which will hopefully fill the team with confidence for next week
