rain break and brutal batting hits the Niffy hard

having lost the toss on a wicket that was so green if the stumps weren't in the ground you wouldn't know where the wicket was the Niffy found it extremely hard going with the ball nipping around so credit to both Deggy's and Yorkie for toughing it out, it was so tough that at the 10 over spell only 11 runs had been scored but eventually the runs started to gather momentum, Yorkie perished in the 23rd over looking to increase the run rate putting the Niffy on 72-1, the skip sent in Muggle to try and up the rate and he did just that with some powerful blows sending every one of the home side's fielders onto the boundary in an attempt to curb the runs, Muggle lost his wicket trying to play a cut shot only to drag on 100-2, Deggys at the other end was scoring freely bringing up his 50 and was looking in fine touch, Badger played a cameo innings before trying something different to score runs playing the ball from the back of his new bat onto his helmet into the keeper's gloves, Jonny and Degg's were at the crease scoring runs at a good rate when the heavens opened flooding parts of the ground, bringing an abrupt end to the Niffy innings and seemingly the end of the game. But it wasnt to be after 2 hours of sitting around a decision was made that Bitteswell had 30 overs to chase down the Niffy score of 146, unfortunately they did this with ease smashing the ball to all parts of the boundary, the skipper needed an extra 10 fielders it seemed at times, as the thunder and rain clouds approached the quicker the runs flowed with the Niffy having no answers
meaning a very disappointing ending to what at one stage looked like a promising position.
We go again next week!!
