Considering the amount of rain that had fallen all week Bassett Ave was in very good condition, Medbourne lost the toss Niffy stuck them in and the bowlers did the rest!!, Luke struck first getting one to nip back then it was sharpey claiming 2 identical wickets, both to muggle at square leg reducing Medbourne to 15-3, a decision went Niffy's way when the square leg umpire gave out the visitor's batsman much to his disgust 34-4 this run out thou was all down to Muggle's fine diving one handed stop and excellent throw to Blocker's gloves, The skipper then came into the attack along with Ash and between them took the other 6 wickets 3 caught in the slip's by Luke although Jonny tried to grab one off Luke Jonny also dropped one in the slips off the Skipper's bowling but made amends by holding onto one (eventually juggler Henfrey!!), Happy Meal took the final chance presented to end Medbourne's innings 79 all out, A fine all round performance in the field, Gaining 13 overs the Niffy had to bat these before Badger's excellent food offering which they did comfortably with Smig and Badger putting on 34 runs before the food break, sadly the break did the Niffy no favours as both Badger then Smig lost there wickets although Smig was a tad unlucky to fall victim to a fine diving catch, Jonny and Happy Meal thou got the Niffy more or less over the line until Happy Meal tried to finish it in style and was bowled bringing Luke to the crease with just 1 run needed.
It's a real shame after a performance like this that we go into this week's game with 7 different faces in the team, But it's an opportunity for those 7 new faces to make an impact and give the skipper a better kind of headache the following week!!
