another frustrating afternoon

the visitors won the toss and elected to put the Niffy into bat and the hosts got off to a bad start with badger edging to slip witht he score only on 2, Big willie arrived at the crease and picked up where he left off last week and along with yorkie the Niffy started putting runs on the board at a slow pace due to some tight bowling from the MO bowlers, Yorkie was the next to fall with the score on 52, Smig came to the crease and just as he was hitting his stride he chopped on, a mix up then saw happy meal depart which made him from happy!! James then with big Willie then tried to up the run rate as MO started to look a little ragged in the field, But Willie himself was looking a little ragged affected by the run out he to chopped on but before another fine innings of 64 (good luck next week in the 1st team)
The run rate really increased then as the 2 James's started nudging the ball to all parts and literally running at all costs adding 50 runs in just 6 overs, The Niffy ended on a creditable 202-7 but were thought we were possibly 20-30 runs shy and unfortunately this proved the case.
Market Overton arrived with only 10 men one whom could barely run, but the Niffy were well aware of one players batting capability and he turned out to be the match winner for the visitor's. Sharpey claimed the first wicket with the score on 32 with the skip taking a catch which left him with a nice bruise, The skip then claimed 2 bowling MO's other opener and Hunty taking a simple catch in between Hunty claimed his first of 3 wickets with Muggle holding onto one right on drinks leaving MO on 67-4 off 23 overs, A partnership of 71 then hurt the Niffy as both Swell and Makwana started playing big shots, Happy Meal broke the partnership with Badger holding onto a good catch on the boundary, Then the painful bit, Ash got Makawana to hit one to the boundary Muggle was under it but didn't call Hunty went for the same catch and you can guess what happened, A life for the MO batsman and he made the home side pay in the 44th over with MO still needing 23 to claim victory Makwana set about the skipper's bowling and won the game for the visitors.
On a day where 3 instances of a lack of communication proved a little costly we need to learn from these little mistakes that are occasionally and become stronger as a team, onwards and upwards!!
