The birthday win.

On a cold winters day, on a day of joy so just a little happy birthday to Matt and Nick from Saturday. It was clear that the lads were in good spirits and continuing the winning ways maybe?

It all started when Langtons lost the toss and I believe that`s 8 out 8?? Captain Karl decided to bowl first with the short boundary in play. It started well so it seemed with birthday boy Nick making the break through and Muggle taking a comfortable catch believe it or not. Then a super piece of fielding from Joe saw Maas run out for 0. Then the turn of the other birthday boy Matt. With his second ball he bowled the young Stretton for 4. Then P.Morrison fell inot the hands of Joe off Matts bowling for a well played 38. Then the turn of the captain (brother) Hawker came into the action and as normal, moaning at Joe and Muggle for bowling short then his first ball is short and lands in cow poop. then the wickets started to tumble. Imtiyaz skying one to Deggs that was safe as houses of course. Karl then bowled J.Morrison for only 1. Then gibbo bowled... We shall leave that one over off just for him. (it went for 13) James then claimed his first of the day with a good stumping by Will and then the stumping of Zumber for a well played 48. Karl doing what Karl does best and cleaning up the tale. With only bowling 40.3 overs the niffy had 49 overs to chase 145. Karl finished on 4-40, James with 2-12, Matt with 2-25, Nick with 1-15 and Gibbo with 0-13 off 1... Sorry Gibbo.

After a super Hawker tea. With a lovely bit of x-factor.(you`re all welcome). We decided to get the pads on and try to knock off the total.

With Tommy G saying he isn`t going to hit anything in the air... again... took his time and picked his ball before trying to smash over the top. Deggs at the other hand playing the holding role playing some lovely shots along with Tommy G playing some classic Tommy G shots. Tom finally reached his 50 with a 4 after hitting a 6!! and then got caught on the boundary. Waggy came and went for 1. Deggs then left the crease for a well played 30. Then birthday boy Matt came and went for 4. Will held the ship steady while The other birthday boy Nick smashing the ball but unfortunately couldn`t get us over line. Nick pushing us up 129-5 and that left James and Will to steer us home and that they did. Will finishing 19* and James finishing on 5*.

The fine of the day went to Joe for running away from the cows because he was scared.

Over all good performance and a happy day for all with most of us going up town after the game to celebrate, i`m sure everyone is looking forward to the last game, so lets have 6 from 6. Enjoy your week and see most of you at training on Thursday.

Yours Truly Joe x
