Sharpe's the word for young Matt

On a warm day the skip lost the toss and the Niffy were put into bat on a wicket that looked like it had plenty of life in it, and so it seemed as Exton removed the top 3 batsman leaving the on 21-3, Benny and Si started to make in-roads although their running between the wickets left something to be desired!!. Thorpe made a bowling change bringing on Foldys their spinner and Benny left his first ball only to see it hit top of his off stump, Tom came and went falling to the spinner bringing the wildcard to the crease. Hayden's first 3 shot choices were more like a baseball players but it wasn't to long before he settled down and with Si at the other end still the runs started to flow for the Niffy, Si reaching his first half century of the season, promptly followed by Hayden who again reached his first half century of the season. That was the last time Hayden troubled the scorer but his partnership with Si built the Niffy a fine platform (91 runs), Si then holed out bringing joey and the skip to the crease and between them in the last 5 overs scored another 45 runs getting the niffy to 200, a fine effort after the start that was made. The Skip was confident that a winning score had been made and so it proved thanks to a fine opening bowling spell by Joey and the youngster Matty Sharpe, Joey yet again bowling a superb line and length struck first finding the edge of the dangerous looking Sibbons, Joey then produced a fine piece of fielding with a great throw from the boundary straight into the gloves of Deggys who did the rest, Then it was the Matt Sharp show after a nervous start he then took 3 wickets in quick succession getting the 2 big wickets of Carnell and Hirst. The wildcard then chipped in with 3 wickets to cap a fine all round performance and with the skip and Gibbo taking a wicket a piece it was a job very well done and 30 points in the bag.
