Waggy sets up comfortable victory

on a typical damp trip to Illston, the game was delayed by 45mins due to rain, with the skip again calling correctly he put 10 man Illston into bat.It wasn't until the 12th over that the Niffy finally got their first wicket joey finally bending his back and banged one in to hit the gloves and deggys did the rest at slip. Then it was the waggy show, with his words of "take me off after this over this isn't my type of wicket" in his next 4 overs he duly bowled 4 Illston batsman without conceding a run and with joey taking another in his final over of his spell Illston went from 23-1 to 35-6, A superb opening bowling spell by the niffy lads,Illston then began to show some resistance but the wildcard managed to tempt Nimj to chip one to the skipper and then gibbo did the same with Muggle taking a well judged catch, A young Sachin (12yrs old) was proving to be a tough obstacle but finally perished with a good piece of work in the field by joey with willy removing the bails before the 12yr old good get to his crease. Illston finished on 96 which was a lot more than looked possible but there last 3 batsman scored 52 runs again proving you should never take anything for granted. While having tea the rain came down again but thankfully no overs were lost, Deggs and willy set about the Illston bowlers who seemed to be rotating almost ever over, Deggys thou looked back to his best punishing any bad ball and with the rain clouds rolling in the two openers reached 98 in the 22nd over to secure a well deserved 25 points much needed after last week.
And so onto to burbage we go, who defeated the runaway leaders last week should be an interesting clash!
