after a very wet week the obvious choice was to bowl first upon winning the toss, but Melton started strongly with potter punishing anything slightly wrong by the bowlers until Thorpey deceived him with one that moved off the seam, potter played well for his 40 but it was the next batsman in that did the damage. Melton's overseas player proving to be a class act during this particular game, with some lusty blows he quickly moved the score on with good backing from Melton's skipper, C'thorpes own skipper finally tempted him to play a loose shot removing him for 83 which proved more than enough on his own. Redwood then continued in the same frame of mind punishing any slightly wrong bowling, but credit to a youthful Countesthorpe side we kept chipping away finally removing 9 of the Melton batsman. C'thorpes skipper ended up taking 4 of the wickets with another 2 to joey and liam, Will with 2 very good stumpings showed yet again that he is improving with each game he plays in.
Unfortunately our batting highlights are very few but what was good was the attitude of our side towards to team that were very "chirpey" Joey played well for his score of 20 but once again the melton overseas Worsnop proved to be the difference taking 5 quick wickets for only 14 runs, his pace was the undoing for some of the younger players.
This was just one game that we learn from and we go again starting this saturday against Dunton
