A great first game for the captain and debut for Dave Sharpe

With the new skipper being blessed with a very strong side the decision was made to bowl first if the coin fell correctly which it promptly did.

with waggy and joey opening the bowling it was waggy who took the first wicket of the season finding the edge and badger doing the rest, joey then struck claiming his first wicket of the season and then in his final over claiming the big wicket of Somani who had played well for his 48, then it was the willan/gibbs show between them claiming 5 wickets in as many overs leaving barrow at the drinks break on 98-8, Credit then to Barrow who dug in after the break but also aided by some wayward bowling Barrow reached 150 with still only 8 down, before the skipper took his first wicket of the season and then joey claiming his third to finally end barrow's resistance.
With a target of 179 to win Si and Will got the chase off to a solid start until a lack of communication cost Will his wicket for a solid looking 20, Si and Smig then carried on the chase until Si's eyes lit up and was caught trying to hit over the top, Our new vice captain Dave Sharpe then joined Smig and continued the good work until smig was adjudged LBW trying to sweep the spinner. Benny then joined his dad at the crease and the two Sharpes together saw the Niffy home to gain the first win of the season.
With the only blip being the amount of extras conceded there was plenty for the new skip to smile about!!
