Niffy won the toss and decided to take the field. Returning Legend Joe Thorpe was as miserly as always.
The skipper weighed in with a mixed bag of a 5-fer. But the highlight of the day, season and career was a spectacular diving, one handed catch, leaping like a salmon from Tom 'Andrew Flintoff' Muggleton.
Tom enhanced his Flintoff-like reputation with a chorus of 'mind the windows Tino' with next ball spooning up for an easy caught and bowled for the Skipper.
Uni Staff 139 all out.

Will and Macca started the chase, Will adjudged LBW as was Zed leaving a rising delivery that clipped the thigh pad...
Macca and Tyler continued watchfully, running the singles where possible and putting away the bad delivery. An unfortunate run out saw the end of Macca for a well constructed 24. Dale made it a trio of 'iffy' LBW decisions. Uni staff were bowling tight lines and the pressure was on. Owen was the next to fall as the mood changed in the Niffy camp.
Enter Thorpey.
Tyler was going along beautifully at one end and Joe dug in. The finishing line gradually got closer and closer, tensions were high with the umpire at 'Square Leg' pointing very angrily.
9 required from 12 balls, Tyler looked in complete control. 4 needed from 5 balls, Joe smashed the ball to the mid wicket boundary.
A great effort and a special mention to Tyler (60*) in by far the best innings you have played for Countesthorpe, both maturely and technically - you thoroughly deserved the plaudits and I hope this pushes you on even further. Well batted mate!
