Kirby batting in run bonanza

Kirby's top 6 all reached to double figures, with the Kinsey brothers both being dismissed on 47 Mark Williamson however hit a crisp 75 as Kirby rattled up 290-6 Dropped catches and wayward bowling didn't help Countesthorpe with 38 extras contributing to the total. Graeme and Matt both took 2 wickets but generally the batsmen were on top

In reply Luke hit a bright 25 before skying to extra cover, Evergreen Paul Hammond picked up the first 5 wickets aided by a poor LBW decision against Ed. The lower order dug in to support Kumara, who again top scored. Thorpey and Graeme added 42 for the last wicket to give the final total a respectable air.

Nearly a quarter of the way through the season and the first win still eludes us, perhaps next week will be the turning point.
