Ben just misses out on deserved ton

2 smart slip catches by Luke put Ivanhoe on the back foot, Rich had the batsmen playing and missing with a little help from the wicket. Thorpey bowled a tight spell, but Newberry and Ward started to put together a partnership. Ward went passed 50 but then the run out of Newberry gave C'thorpe hope. Jarral soon found his range and hit a quick 38 before Toony enduced a rash shot

Clayton supported Sam Ward who was on 89 at the start of the last over, a big six and a boundary off the last ball saw him to a well deserved hundred as Ivanhoe finished on 231-4

Ben and Will put on 83 for the first wicket with Ben looking in fine form. Will missed a full toss bowled by Lafferty, Luke was run out and Badge caught off the back of the bat in a 5 over period that was a comedy of errors. Hayden in his own unique style blasted 24 with 3 might 6's off only 11 deliveries and changed the momentum of the game before he fell to a slow long hop from Clayton. Sensible batting from the middle order was vital in supporting Ben. James made 15 Toony 24 and Matt McDonald 17 all did their bit in a tense situation.

Ben didn't quite get over a cut and was caught by Shortland at backward point for 94 when he full deserved the ton a great knock with 11 fours, however there was still a game to be won and Thorpey took control hitting Jarral through square leg for a boundary, Tom thrashed a four through the covers and then Thorpey guided to third man for another boundary. The field came in but the skipper held his nerve threading a an extra cover drive through the infield to secure 25 valuable points and a real moral booster for the final few games.
