Badger 55 and Toony 4-69 star

On a good wicket Countesthorpe set off well, but soon lost Ben who was caught behind. Badge and Will added 99 before Badge was run out for a fine 55 Will looked to up the rate but was stumped for 47 Craig added a brisk 25 as 200 was reached but Hinckley Ams will be kicking themselves giving away 44 extras in a total of 222

In reply Axon and Tipping started well but James took a scorching return catch to dismiss Tipping. Axon went soon after lured into a false shot by Thorpey. Ollie Winder and Dadu added 105 in good time in what looked to be a match winning partnership but Dadu had a rush of blood and was stumped off Toony.

Ed Proctor was then adjudged caught behind first ball but Garry and Harrison carried on the chase. Winder was then snared by Craig and to his credit walked before the umpire could raise his finger, another wicket for Craig as Garry went LBW and the nerves of the Hinckley batsmen were jangling. Skipper Harrison found the safe pair of hands belonging to Ben, and soon after Harris-Ensor was run out by a good throw from Hayden. Thorpey brought himself back into the attack with the pressure mounting and this proved an inspired decision as Craig took a smart catch at long on to dismiss Smith.

With 14 needed from 2 overs Countesthorpe looked favorites but Butterworth and Hatched edged closer, a boundary from the fifth ball of the final over meant 3 were required by Hinckley for victory. Toony floated the ball up Hatcher had a big swing but found the edge and young Tom swooped from cover to hold the catch, soon to be surrounded by his celebrating team mates. 25 valuable points and plenty to talk about. Toony's 4-69 played a huge part in the victory supported by Craig and Thorpey with 2 wickets each. Thorpe Arnold next week are the visitors and a chance to move up towards the middle of the table
