Opportunity goes begging as rain end play

The new opening partnership of Rich Looms and Tom Muggleton held the talented Egerton top order in check with some accurate bowling. On the resumption Barber went for a big shot and dollied it to Gaz off Craig. Glover who was approaching a well deserved ton had a rush of blood and tried a reverse sweep, the umpire had no hesitation in agreeing with Gaz's appeal. More rain prevented a restart until only 20 overs remained. Gaz and Ben looked eager for runs but the rain came again. only 10 balls were possible before the umpire abandoned the game with C'thorpe 14-0 chasing 123 in 20 overs.
