Toony takes 5 but then the batting struggles

After an early wicket for Thorpey, Billesdon got off to a flyer with in form Dan Snaith timing the ball to perfection. Chris Elliott looked classy as Billesdon reached 50 Thorpey struck again as Snaith went back and was bowled and soon after Gaz nipped out skipper Tom Miles with one that seamed.

Tom Harrison supported Elliott who surprisingly missed a straight one from Firoz and was adjudged LBW Toony struck in his first over Dave taking a good catch at cover, Mitchell and Nourish played cameos but from that point on it was the Toony show taking 5-15 in 8.5 overs, 175 all out looked a little below par on a true wicket.

Gaz and Ben started well, but it didn't take long for the class player on show to make his mark, Elliott demolished the top order bowling Gaz, Will Buckley and Firoz in short order. Tom and Ben looked to rebuild before Ben went LBW. Tom then holed out at cow. Blockers and the skipper started to repair the innings and just when it looked like victory might be there for the taking, the returning Elliott bowled Blockers and Thorpey

Toony soon went and it was left to Dave and Joe to see out the last 3 overs, Dave found the boundary with a couple of drives gaining valuable batting and draw points and Joe bravely defended with a straight bat. A draw was achieved but ultimately there was a feeling of gloom at missing a golden chance to secure a much needed win. The batsmen must reflect on shot choices that in many cases cost them their wicket and frustratingly if wickets were in hand more attacking shots could have been gained in the last 3 overs maybe securing those 25 points.
