Gaz went in the first over, but Ben and Will looked good early on until one stopped on Ben and he was caught and bowled. New signing Firoz joined Will in a 50 run partnership and although the wicket was dusting the score after 20 overs of 75-2 looked fine. Sadly another collapse afflicted the team as 7 wickets fell for 47 runs with 3rd change bowler Ben Watson returning figures of 6-9
Firoz was still battling and with Joe holding out Firoz was able to blast Charlie Hack for 17 off his final over before being last out for a brilliant 63 a final total of 139 looked about 40 short but it did give the bowlers a slight opportunity
Fish and Pickering started well punishing anything short or full on the leg side. The score raced to 50 before Thorpey and the spinners regained control, Toony bowled a great spell claiming 3 top order wickets and Firoz was accurate however Matt Pickering was anchoring the innings and despite 4 quick wickets he was able to knock off the required runs with the help of Charlie Hack who made 25
New recruit Firoz had an outstanding game with runs a wicket and a catch, the rest of the team will need to up their game to support in what becomes a crucial match next Saturday against fellow strugglers Kirby Muxloe
