Improved performance produces useful points

Rain played a big hand delaying the start and then after a storm mid innings the game was reduced to 27 overs per side, pre storm Joe took the early wicket of Lane well held by Blockers and Craig kept the batsmen in check before bowling Keshawala. Thorpey produces a tidy spell as Carillion looked to increase the rate. Skipper Trimingham and Harrison both perished in the search for quick runs

Harland put bat to ball before Craig bowled him and Kartic soon followed. It was left to Menon to add vital runs in the remainimg overs as Carillon finished on 159-8

Gaz and Tug added 24 for the frist wicket before tug was dismissed to a great C and B The skipper hit a great cover drive before missing shortly after. Young Blockers played a great cameo raising the tempo as did Smig before hitting a long hop to Gamlin. Craig joined Gaz with 10 an over required. Gaz reached an excellent half century and celebrated by hitting Capel for 6 Craig took 20 from Gamlin's opening over including 2 big maximums, leaving 14 off the final 2. Capel bowled a really tight penultimate over and 12 were needed of the last. Craig reached for a wide and was caught.

Sy came to the wicket but despite some lusty swings, just failed to find the boundary as Countesthorpe finished on 155-5 Gaz being 68 not out. A huge improvement in form and great hope for next week against bottom side Barwelli
