Strong Uppingham team gain easy win

After some tight overs at the top of the inning, the Uppingham top order started to compile a big total. Thorpey bowled Dumford, but Richardson was soon into his stride. Bennett made 71 in support of Richardson who was trapped LBW by Gaz for a classy 100 Gaz also had Bennett caught behind and Buchart well held by Sy in the deep as he claimed 3-45

Uppingham's 266-4 was a more than useful score on a wicket which was rock hard but with a tinge of green to help the bowler. However the target was not unreachable, but soon after the reply commenced it was obvious that Uppingham were in the driving seat. Sy, Ben and Dave were bowled and Ash went LBW as Countesthorpe slipped to 58-4 More wickets tumbled as we struggled to reach the 100 mark.

Latham with 3 wickets and Keywood with 4 were the chief destroyers as Countesthorpe were dismissed for 108 with only Gaz getting past 20 Extras claimed the top score with 29 as only 79 runs came off the bat. Next week we travel to Ashby who have only won 2 all year, so hopefully we will get a confidence boost there.
