The Hens dominate!

2 quite outstanding catches in the slips by Waggy helped Luke remove both openers, including the dangerous Craig Chapman who made only 2 Luke also accounted for Ben Lapworth and Lee Wolloff in a high quality opening spell of 4-14 Thorpey bowled 7 maidens in his 12 over spell keeping the pressure on as Narborough limped to 30-4 from 20 overs. Craig and Gaz joined the attack and Craig soon had Josh Hallam well caught by Ben Sharpe who kept cool under a skier.

Gaz then had George Whitmore snapped up by a diving Dave Sharpe at deepish mid off, although Nick Cooper was holding firm. Ben Borderick hit 2 big maximums before Craig trapped him in front for 17 The procession continued as firstly Paul Warrington was expertly caught by Dave Sharpe in his favourite mid off area, and then 2 brilliant catches from Gaz ensured Craig returned a five wicket haul. Nick Cooper was a little surprised to be dismissed as Gaz turned from extra cover and as the ball sailed over his head made the grab one handed, but not half as surprised as Richard Key who hammered the ball to Gaz's left but taking off goalkeeper style managed to hang on to the ball as he crashed to the ground.

8 catches all of them high quality ensured Narborough were never likely to reach an imposing total on a hard wicket, tinged with green, however spare a thought for Thorpey who's great spell went unrewarded as alas we did spill a couple of chances, you've guessed it Thorpey was that unlucky bowler!

In reply Tom went early but Gaz and Jonny looked solid. Nick Cooper came into the attack and bowled a fine spell and was certainly Narborough's main man after his hardworking 53 Runs cameat a decent rate as skipper Chapman rotated his bowlers, but couldn't find the right combination. After a 73 run partnership Gaz was caught and bowled for 36. Ash Hallam joined Jonny and hit a belligerent 23 as Jonny raced to his 50 Lee Wolloff eventually gained revenge when he bowled Jonny for 54 to allow Sharpey to secure a red inker! A sound 7 wicket win and chances over the next few week of more big points.
