Great effort from Gaz but points are shared

Banks won the toss and batted making reasonable progress on a good wicket. Shukla was first to go well held by Eben off Wade at point. Luke ripped one through Salgotra's defence as Banks were reduced to 52-2

Nikesh Patel joined opener Yuvraj Odedra in a stand of 87 before Luke took an excellent catch running in from long off, Gaz being the successful bowler. In the same over Patel was bowled as Banks wobbled. Laximzn made a brisk 23 before falling to Luke and Gaz has Mistry caught by Tom behind. Banks finished their 45 overs on 212-7

In reply Gaz and Eben started cautiously bring up the 50 partnership in the 17th over. Banks changed to spin and Eben holed out at mid on. Wade was given caught behind although he appeared to hit his pad and Sharpy was well held by Nikesh on the extra boundary after making a hard hit 15.

Gaz reached 50 and pushed on, however Hayden was run out, Tom batted well but when he missed a straight one as 54 were needed from 6 overs. Luke soon got going as Gaz approached a ton, but still 22 were needed from the final 2 overs. Luke hit 2 big shots out of the ground, but a good final over by Odedra left C'thorpe needing 3 from the last ball. Luke swung and nicked only to see it fly straight to the man on the fine leg boundary

A single was all that could be scrambled as C'thorpe came up 2 short of victory. Luke's big hitting produced 35 not out and Gaz was left stranded on 99 not out, in what was a very good game of cricket which changed direction a number of time. 14 points each in a drawn game was good reward.
