Barkby batsmen in top form

Steve Flowers and Jack Berrisford dominated the bowling in a whirlwind opening stand of 180 Both batsmen reached the boundary with regularity as Countesthorpe bowlers toiled on a flat wicket. Both openers reached well deserved half centuries and were plundering the attack. However Thorpy managed to halt the flow deceiving Flowers who was attempting another big hit

Ian Kirk violent innings increased the run rate as he blasted 5 maximums in a lightening 65 before Thorpy claimed his 2nd wicket. Luke ran out, Berrisford with a great throw, but Harby joined in the fun with a brisk 30 not out.

In reply early wickets put C'thorpe on the back foot but Wade looked in total control as usual. Jamo supported Wade in a 50 stand before being caught at slip. Smig and Wade added another 50 stand but bonus points were all that were on offer. As the overs ran out Wade hit some crisp boundaries to finish undefeated on 82 including 14 4's. A disappointing performance against a good Barkby side who are pushing for promotion, the 2nd half of the season needs to see some improvement in all areas if we are to move up the table
