Stunning gulley catch by Thorpy secures win

Ash lost the toss and C'thorpe were inserted on a wicket dampened by Friday's rain, Gaz and Richo started sedately but were aided by extras as the score reached 50 in the 15th over. Gaz drilled one to mid off and Sooty did likewise as drinks were reached on 81-2

Richo was finding his form after him cameo last week and started to take toll on Dyer as Wade lent support. With the introduction of spin Wade stepped up the pace peppering the unprotected leg side boundary.

Richo reached a deserved 50 with an edge off the speedy Schofield and Wade who had again paced his inning expertly launched a couple of maximums off Matt Kinsey. Eventually Richo holed out at deep extra as Wade received support from Jamo. Kinsey somehow got one through Wade's defences for a quality 67 Luke smashed a maximum second ball and Steve added a couple of boundaries as C'thorpe closed on 234-5

Kirby Muxloe started poorly losing Bradley-Smith and Poole in reaching double figures, Paul Cockerill limped off which brought the dangerous Williamson to the crease. Some well times cuts and pulls saw Kirby get back in the game as Williamson dominated. Dan Kinsey was well held by Badger behind before Steve enduced Williamson to hit a wide one straight to Gaz.

Scott Hammond and Kohli added 50 and again Kirby looked in the game. The returning Cockerill hit some quality shots before Bagde took a good diving catch behind, his 3rd of the innings. Luke was bowling at speed and he claimed the important wicket of Hammond LBW Wade returned and quickly changed the game.

Schofield and Dyer soon departed as Wade created havoc in the lower order, but with 3 and a bit overs remaining and the last pair at the crease Thorpy took the catch of the season! Skipper Paul Hammond turned away in disbelief as he made good contact towards gully and Thorpy diving to his left took a blinding one hander. Seconds later he was mobbed by his mates as this stunner has secured 30 precious points. Wade finished with 4-38 and Luke in impressive 3-29 as Kirby were dismissed for 199
