The sun shone on a great day

With the sun out and the crowds in attendance after a glorious win for the U15's earlier in the day, a number of the juniors began the day with some kwik cricket run by the second team skipper, Rich Looms.

After the junior games had finished, the Niffy Super 8s competition began. The teams had been selected to have a mixture of men, women and juniors to make the day nice and competitive.

So, the teams were:

Team Barnett
Si Garrard (c)
Tyler Garrard
Ethan Measures
Keith Measures
Laura Doherty
Diane McDonald
Henry Gibbs
Michael Megginson
James Waddington

Team Hibberd
Joe Thorpe (c)
Ben Sharpe
Si Page
Harry Page
Paul Macintryre
Eric Mawby
Carrie Garrard
Hayden Garrard
Dave Garrard

Team Clarke

Joe Hawker (c)
Adam Townley
Kumar Kesana
Emma Carlick
Andy Carlick
Charlie Perry
Michael Dean
Sam Wale
Tony Devenish

Team Dupey
James Popplewell (c)
Verity Popplewell
Ed Naylor
Harry Muggleton
Tom Muggleton
Josh Henderson
Bec Tilbury
Adam Sargisson
Marc Hignell

So, in the first semi final Team Barnett faced Team Hibberd. Team Hibberd posted a fine score of 73 which was too much for Team Barnett, who could only reach 48 in reply. The second semi final saw Team Clarke victorious easily chasing down 46 posted by Team Dupey.

So, with Team Clarke and Hibbed in the final, the final was a close fought affair. However, Joe Hawker and his Team Clarke contingent were just too strong and his team went on to lift the trophy (two years in a row for Mr Hawker!!)

The Club would like to thank all of the players and everyone that came out to support the Club. In particular, thanks must go to the team that helped organise the day along with those that were there helping out on Sunday, including those working behind the bar, the BBQ and Sue Dupey for a superb spread once again.

The day really shows what a fantastic club we have and the hard work that goes into running it including the support shown by our President, John Dupey.

We hope that those that attended had a good time and will be there again next year!
