With the 2018 season brought to an end, President, John Dupey, was in charge of speaking to a number of the Club's members and getting their votes for Club man of the year.

This award is given out every year to a person that has gone above and beyond for the Club. As you all know, the Club is run entirely by volunteers and it is only right that people get the recognition they deserve for their hard work. If it was not for the people behind the scenes, then we would not have a Club.

So, after John had counted up the votes, we are delighted to announce that the Clubman of the year for 2108 is the Graham Popplewell, Assistant Groundsman.

Graham spends an unbelievable amount of time with Tony preparing the pitches and cutting the outfield at the Club's second ground in Gilmorton. He commutes over 20 minutes each way just to get to the ground and spend hours sitting on the roller (well, until some low life nicked it!!). If it was not for people like Graham putting in a stupid number of hours, without charge, the Club simply would not survive.

So, next time you see Graham, why not just say a quick thank you.
