If you didnt make it, have a read as to what was agreed

After the formalities the Chairman gave his report for the year indicating that it had been a generally difficult year for the Club from a playing side except for the fantastic results for the Second Team and the U15 and U17s . Dave re-emphasised the fact that it takes a small number of people a serious amount of work to keep the Club going and more help was needed to simply spread the load. Dave thanked all of the volunteers for their hard work.

John then said a few words about the commitment needed by people to help run the Club because he could not sustain the work he put in due to his age. If everyone gave just a small amount of time, the load would be spread and make it manageable for people.

The Treasurer then gave his report running through the accounts which have shown that the Club's revenue was steady including an increase in the bar revenue. However, the Club would have been run at a loss but for an unexpected one off payment. We therefore need everyone to try and help where they can, including attending social events, or even better, referring sponsors to the Club. This is a revenue stream which is not easy to increase but if all players asked their employer then it is possible that we could find a shirt sponsor. It was also evident that a number of players had not paid their annual subscriptions, which caused a significant reduction in the Club's income. The management committee are looking at ways to manage this however it should be everyones responsibility to pay their annual fees because if one member does, then it is only fair that the other members do too!! So, if you have not paid your annual subs for 2019, then please pay them immediately.

The captains gave their reports with the main issue being the lack of availability and asked players to try and increase this. However, it was not all negative as we now have a number of the juniors coming through into the senior side and the second team had a brilliant year. The Club also managed to get 44 players out every week (except for one) which was a fantastic effort.

Verity commented on the ladies season as an interesting one, having dropped out of the league due to the huge void in the playing standard. However the second part of the season was much better and plans are afoot for a new feeder league next year. She also mentioned that new players are still needed and asked people to publicise the team.

Barry's reported on behalf of the new junior committee and once again said that we have a number of talented and enthusiastic kids on the books. We have one of the biggest junior set ups in the county with around 100 juniors. The U15 and U17 also reached the county finals with the U15's being crowned champions.

The Club Officers were then appointed as follows:

President: John Dupey
Chairman: Dave Smith
Secretary: Paul Wagstaff
Treasurer: Mark Cunnold
First Team Captain: Joe Thorpe
Second Team Captain: Rich Looms
Third Team Captain: Ollie Nelson
Fourth Team Captain: Simon Garrard
Sunday Captain: Michael Megginson
Ladies Captain: Verity Popplewell
Management Committee Member: James Popplewell
Management Committee Member: Tony Kilsby
Management Committee Member: Verity Popplewell
Management Committee Member: Terry Swingler

It was agreed that due to the difficult financial position the senior annual subscriptions would be increased by £10 but the other fees, including match fees would remain unaltered.

Three points of AOB was raised. One regarding attendance at social events, one regarding player attendance at the AGM (which was very poor again) and the final one was the Clubman of the year, which was won by Barry Hibberd for all of this hard work, not just this year but for the 28 other years!

Thank you to those members that turned out to attend the AGM.
