Thorpey put fear into the Egerton Park batsmen continuing where he left off in Melton with a 3 wicket haul of the top order. Joe bowled a solid spell but it was left to the Matt duo of Toon and McDonald to claim the rest of the wickets. Tom Glover looked in good form and made 62 having survived a chance early on, Panchal made 28 but the rest all struggled against a disciplined bowling performance. Thorpey claimed 3-22 Toony 4-50 and Macca 3-24
Although chances were missed some great catches were held with Graeme Rowe and Tyler vying for "catch of the day" In reply Will looked in great form striking 4 classy boundaries and Ed supported well as a good start was made. Will perished LBW but Ed found a higher gear. Gaz soon found his timing and the pair added 34 before Ed succumbed to a great catch
Pagey unluckily found a man at deep cover who took a good catch, but Sy carried on from previous weeks with a cameo 20 Tyler joined Gaz with the game in the balance but the pair added 62 in a match winning stand, young Tyler has really come of age and batted with great maturity, finding gaps and running well. Gaz holed out just before the target was reached for a high class 67 but fittingly Tyler whipped seamer Glover to square leg for the winning boundary. Tyler's finished 30 not out and should rightly be very pleased with his days work.
25 fully deserved points and a big game next week against fellow strugglers, a win could really set up a grandstand finish to the season.
