Poor running and pressure bowling rocked Shepshed and at 68-4 and 95-6 Countesthorpe looked in control, however overseas player Williams had other ideas. With only Morley able to support Williams reached his half century and then in the final 10 overs cut loose as Shepshed reached an improbable 223-8 The returning Ash Willan took 2 wickets as did Toony but Williams undoubtedly rescued Shepshed surviving 2 dropped catches in his 135 not out which contained 17 fours and two 6's
In reply wickets fell steadily but Will Buckley held firm, left arm spinner Booth was causing problems and nipped in for a 5 wicket haul. Will reached 50 but with the need to up the rate he perished in the deep. Thorpey and Toony struck some lusty blows but it was all in vain as the final wicket fell on 154 A chance missed but hopefully an experience gained that will hold us in good stead for the future.
