After losing the toss the skipper promoting himself to opener starting brightly, but soon wickets tumbled as C'thorpe were reduced to 60-6 Dave Sharpe took the battle to Shepshed hitting 2 maximums and 3 fours in his 27 before edging to slip. Toony and Graeme added 60 with Toony playing a great cameo reaching 39 before eventually falling when quick runs were required. The inning subsided to 163 all out with 10 balls remaining
In reply Shepshed looked comfortable with Gibson and Pratt putting on 86 for the first wicket. Muggle trapped both openers and Toony deceived Aussie Williams but the wickets were few and far between. Karl Shaw soon found his range and Doyle hit the winning runs with almost 13 overs to spare. A tough day but hopefully lessons learned in readiness for struggling Kirby Muxloe next week
