However it appeared the game turned on a catch, when Ashley Harrison took a stunner in his follow through from a full bloodied drive from Gareth.
With the breakthrough achieved Axon took full advantage taking out the middle order for minimal cost, Dave joined Ben in a small recovery but Harrison was not to be denied and both perished to excellent deliveries. Rich Looms and Joe Hawker then batted with great determination to lift the score past the hundred adding 31 in the process, the 2nd highest partnership of the innings, before Joe succumbed to another catch from Harrison to add to his figures of 6-28. Fielding before tea when asked to bat first is never a good sign and at 36-0 at the break the "Ams" were almost home and dry
Craig dismissed Tipping, but Axon's excellent day continued with a not out 50 and Dadu helped reach the target in only the 25th over. The Hinckley lads had further cause for celebration when they completed the Sun crossword in double quick time to round off a very good day for them. Back to the drawing board for Countesthorpe as they take on struggling Thorpe Arnold next week
