James and the skipper in the wickets

A good start from Ben and Gaz on an excellent batting wicket was curtailed when Gaz missed a good one from Garg. Will joined Ben and the youngsters added 50 without many alarms, Ben finding his range although with minimal foot movement! Will played himself in before moving through the gears. From a coaches point of view watching players mature is interesting, not all are the same and Ben and Will are cases in point, Ben has been getting better and better season by season, but this year Will has exploded onto the scene, whichever way it happens Countesthorpe are now blessed to have 2 very talented batsmen in their top order.

Having scored 31 Ben mishit a full toss and was held in the deep, but this didn't deter Will who raced to an excellent 50 James joined Will and between them added 130 in 18 overs, pushing the score past 200. Having reached 50 Will launched into an attack on Bray who he hit for 16 in an over and Tarvas who Will hit for 2 big maximums. James played an excellent supporting role and as Will approached a ton, dad Rog went for a nervous walk. It didn't take long for Will to find another gap and achieve a milestone that he will treasurer for life and it will live long in the memories of his team mates who gave him a rousing ovation.

Will eventually perished for 112 with 16 boundaries and two 6's Hayden whacked a quick dozen and Dave an attractive 28 not out in the final total of 263-4 Luke powered in and soon demolished Jinasen's castle. Injury to Luke forced a change as Scott Moore looked ominous. James Sharpe also looked in touch as Broomleys threatened. However the consistent Thorpey took the valuable wicket of Moore LBW and Craig soon snared Tarvas as Broomleys lost their way

Thorpeys excellent spell came to an end and James replaced him having Garg dropped in his first over. The battle was on as Broomleys big hitters set sail, but James was not to be out done and claimed 2 brilliant return catches in quick succession. Craig had found his length as Broomleys subsided with only Blunt and Khan offering any resistance. Craig returned 4-47 and James finished off the innings claiming 4-
54 to round off a very successful day for the young all rounder and an even better day for the team.
