Craig takes 4 wickets well supported by Thorpey and Luke

Craig batted first on a dry wicket and with Barwell opening with spin from one end, the pressure was on the openers. Ben was dropped by silly silly point in the first over as Kyle Newall extracted help from the wicket, in what turned out to be a big moment very early in the game. Gaz and Ben then accumulated before Gaz was held at slip off first change spinner Ady Baker.

Dan and Ben found scoring hard and Dan perished being stumped when looking to hit Baker into the allotments. Matt was bowled and after a brief Hayden cameo C'thorpe were in a bit of trouble at 92-4 after 26 overs. Dave joined Ben and together family Sharpe repaired the situation adding 50 in reasonable time. Ben perished, well held on the boundary for an excellent 62 and a season's average of 155 versus Barwell.

Craig joined Dave and the scoreboard stared to whiz round with both hitting maximums. Craig was bowled by Skeene only for Luke to join in the fun. A quick fire 28 including 2 huge 6's pushed the total passed 200 before Skeene bowled Luke. Dave and James accumulated well in the final overs with Dave finishing on 41 not out with 3 big maximums, in a total of 224-7

Thorpey and Luke bowled very tight lines early on and Liam O'Rourke soon lost patience, Dave taking the catch at mid on off Thorpey. Allen was bowled by Thorpey and with Clint joining Ady the Baker boys were grinding it out. Toony replaced Luke who had bowled well without luck and suffocated Clint conceding only 6 runs in his first 5 overs. Craig replaced Thorpey and soon enduced Ady Baker to clip one to mid off where Gaz took a good catch

Craig was now in metronomic form and Smith nearly swung himself off his feet trying to hit Craig out the ground, but failed despite numerous tries. Wright, Fisher and Smith all fell to Craig in a spell that turned the game. James Hunt then took the important wicket of Clint Baker for 39 and Barwell were hanging on. Luke got his deserved wicket bowling Newall and Thorpey trapped Roach in front, but despite 7 balls at the last pair, the final wicket was elusive and a big winning draw was all that could be claimed. A fine result and a big confidence boost for the seasons final run in
