Rain thwarts Countesthorpe Victory Bid

On what started out looking like a pleasant day in Huncote, the boys following last weeks performance were in good spirits.
The Pre-Match Old vs Young Football match went to the Youth in a 5-4 last minute victory!

Craig lost the toss and Countesthorpe were asked to field first.
Thorpey and Ash took the new ball and both were successful early. Craig rang the changes in search of more wickets.
Huncote were eventually bowled out for 110, Toony with 5 wickets, Thorpey with 3 and Ash claiming 2.

The Tea interval was taken and weather radars were out. It was a case of when and not if the rain would arrive. With Countesthorpe cantering at 42-0 off 6 overs, the inevitable happened.
The rain continued for the remainder of the afternoon and the boys relaxed with a game of Head Tennis. Ash again the hero with the 11th touch into the back of the net (Shower).

Overall, a good performance ruined by the rain. 10 points a good haul.
