Batting first Gaz and Ben put on 56 for the first wicket before Gaz mistimed a drive. Tom started brightly with some crisp shots only for Ben Lapworth to pull of an excellent caught and bowled. Firos and Ben rotated the strike brilliantly until Ben skied Lapworth and was well held by Chris Chipman for a quality 61.
Firoz soon followed LBW but skipper Dave and Sy hit out in great fashion, after last week's knock Sy looked in fine form, but as is usual for him at Narborough he was retired hurt when his hammy went ping!!. Dave carried on the good work supported by Dikey who after headbutting one early doors, soon found his range with a couple of big 6's. 256-6 at tea was a fine effort
Ross Blockley looked in imperious form, but parner Cox was snapped up for a golden duck with Gaz taking the catch off Craig's bowling. Blockley then miscued to cover where Gaz took a good catch. Lee Wolloff went caught behind and skipper Nick Cooper departed in Toony's second over to a reflex catch by Craig at short extra cover.
Ben Lapworth then scooped Firoz to mid wicket and Narborough looked in trouble at 101-5 However Adam Burchnall was batting well and he found an ally in Sam Cooper. Burchnall unleashed an array of off drives as he reached a fine 50 Cooper hit some fine shots as they put on a 100 partnership.
With the win out of reach Burchnall looked for a deserved 100 but lost the strike in the final over ending on 98 not out, Cooper was 52 not out as Narborough easily held on for a draw on a wicket when nearly 500 runs were scored and only 11 wickets fell. 17 points was a reasonable return against a side clearly heading in the right direction
Every game is now a big game until the end of the season with the bottom 4 being cast somewhat adrift
