Countesthorpe have been drawn away in the 2018 Village Cup. All clubs in the Leicestershire, Notts and Lincs receive a bye in the first round, and in the second round are away to Baston on 13th May. The winners will have a home match against Ratby or Newtown Linford on 27th May, with the regional final on 10th June.
Other 2nd round matches;
Billesdon v Cropwell
Lubenham v Cropston
Baston play in Division One of the South Lincs and Border League, where they finished 3rd in 2017. They are known as 'The Tarts', and their badge depicts a Pig, Countesthorpe's favourite animal that used to watch the Gala Day procession go by, which explains why the village is known as 'Niffy'. Baston have an extremely good batsman called James Tickler, who I am sure we hope lives up to his name....and gets one early in his innings.
